Wordle is a great way to start your day. It exercises your mind in a fun way. For those who do not know, you need to guess a five-letter word in this game in six attempts.

Wordle tells you about the entered letter and its position in the word. It gives a green box if the letter you entered is in the word at the exact place, a yellow box if the entered letter is present but at a different spot, and a dark grey colored box if the entered letter is not in the word.

Five-letter words come in handy while playing other games like Scrabble, Boggle, Bananagrams, Words With Friends, and more.

How to Find High-Scoring Five-Letter Words?

You can find high-scoring five-letter words using several ways like playing anagrams, crosswords, Wordles, and using word tools. I recommend using word tools if you are a newbie because it helps you in basic games like anagrams and wordles.

Word tools give you a huge list of five-letter words according to the entered conditions. These conditions can be related to the number of vowels, specific letters, that word’s initials, and more. You can also take advantage of features like advanced search to enter bad or good words of your Wordle.

Best Five-Letter Words to Start Your Wordle With

Now that you know how to find five-letter words, it is time to use them in Wordle. You do not need to think much about the scoring per letter in Wordle because it is a classic win or loss only game. Either you win by guessing the correct word, or you lose.

However, you might need to guess at least once or twice before picking up the clue regarding the puzzle. You might want to avoid guessing without thinking. I’ll tell you about the several words you can use to start a Wordle, which will make the game easier for you.

I prefer using common words like arise, irate, sound, etc., to start the game. You can also use these words as they contain all vowels and common consonants. Avoid using words like qapik or queue on your first attempt because they feature repeated vowels and not many commonly-used letters.

Wordle

According to this survey, E is the most commonly used English letter. Letters A, R, I, O, etc., are other examples of the most common English letters. As per these letters, using words like ratio, stain, stare, etc., are decent options to start your Wordle.

Almost 75000 English words start with the letter S, which is more than any other letter. So, starting with words having S as the initial letter is also a decent way to initiate Wordle. Try using words like cloud or lurch if all the letters come out in grey.

Differentials

Differentials words can do the trick if nothing is working. These words can have slightly uncommon letters like Y, J, etc., which are the least frequently used letters in the English language.

Here is a list of useful high-scoring letters for you to start Wordle.

  • Graze,
  • Vapes,
  • Paint,
  • Frame,
  • Windy,
  • Gourds.

Apart from the two or three words I mentioned earlier, I use these five words to start my Wordle game. These words are a decent combination of common and uncommon words.

You might want to use common letters to nail down the shape of the word and uncommon ones for the elimination process.

Audio is also a great word to start the puzzle because it eliminates four vowels in one go and is easy to remember. Similarly, you can use words like Ouija and Adieu, which contain four vowels and common letters.

Some Other Common and Uncommon Words to Try

I might not give you the inspiration behind all these words because they are way too random. Here is a list of fan-favorite words to start the wordle. I only used Twitter and followed some blogs on Google to pick 10-15 words people use much more often than others to initiate Wordle.

  1. Ready,
  2. Touch,
  3. Chief,
  4. Pears,
  5. Arise,
  6. Tears,
  7. Pizza,
  8. Meats,
  9. Roast,
  10. Poets,
  11. Steam,
  12. Spout,
  13. Wound.

There was a time when I used two or three same letters daily to start Wordle, but not anymore. For the last ten or eleven months, I have been using different words daily to initiate the game so that it feels more like a game and less like an assigned task.

Wrapping Up

Wordle has been one of the best things I had during a tough time, so I might speak more highly of it than others. It is a fun game that exercises your mind and enriches your vocab with new words.

You can use repetitive words to initiate Wordle daily, but after some time, you will feel like changing these words to give yourself a challenge. Try not to go for massively uncommon words like craic and ergot every time.
